This is an event on the York Literature Festival programme and a few of us from Meetup are proposing to go along, so if anyone else wants to come you will be among friends - perhaps we shall take some light refreshment at the end as well!!! We are hoping to take along some books by the authors mentioned so that we cn do some themed wild releasing. Should be fun! smile

The details are as follows:-

York Walk Presents: The York Literary Walk
Saturday 8th March, Walk starts at Museum Gardens Gates, 2pm -4pm.

A walk around York's literary sites of interest - including locations that inspired authors such as Charles Dickens, WH Auden, Alcuin, the Bronte Sisters, Kate Atkinson and more.

Tickets: £5.50 adults/ £5.00 York Card holders/ £2.50 children.

I have already told Dorothy that I'll be there but I guess I'd like to add a suggestion that if there are any of you who can't come, but who have books by any York authors (including those mentioned) feel free to bring them along to the February meet and we'll do our best to release them for you (not too many though - I KNOW how many books Dickens wrote - and many of them are thick volumes!) I've not done a message board thingy before... so I hope I'm doing this right. I'll be joining you - are we all just getting our own tickets and meeting there?

Hi Helen
I would say yes to getting our own tickets and meeting there, it's probably easier. Hope that suits you too Dorothy? Anyone else thinking of joining us?

I'm really sorry but I've realised that my good friend Kate will be launching her first novel over in Borders at the same time - somewhat of a milestone event, and so I'm going to go to that instead. I'm really really sorry to mess you around and I hope you have a great time! Nu-Knees is aiming to go along on the walk instead of me.
