As many FREE Bookcrossing books as you can carry away... plus much book & bookcrossing-related banter, socialising, eating, drinking - and a generally good time - all for a token 70p 'attendance' fee...!

What more could you ask for on a sunny* Saturday in September?

(*NB: sun does not form a guaranteed part of this offer - and may be substituted, without notice, by an alternative weather condition of equal or equivalent value)

PLEASE NOTE THAT THE VENUE FOR THIS EVENT WILL *NOT* BE OUR USUAL LAMB & LION INN !!!

IT WILL BE STONEGATE YARD BAR & BRASSERIE (PREVIOUSLY KNOWN TO LOCALS AS 'OSCARS'). WE WILL HAVE A SPECIAL RESERVED ROOM ALL TO OURSELVES !!!

Somewhere around 4pm, I suggest the group decamps - and heads into town for one or more of the following (depending on what the group decides, on the day, is their preference)...

  • some wandering, sightseeing and wild-releasing
  • a film at the City Screen (if there's anything good on - which I will have no idea about until nearer the time)
  • a meal (although obviously, without pre-reserving, this may depend on where we wish to go)
  • a ghost-walk - I suggest this one
  • a boat trip - I suggest this one or this one

[If you would like my mobile number in order to co-ordinate whereabouts after 4pm, just PM me via. Meetup.]

I'm not sure if any NorthEast Bookcrossers (Durham/Newcastle etc.) are going to make it - Suedo promoted this to them, but there hasn't been much response. In fact, it sounds (from what she's told me) that the group may have effectively folded due to lack of interest - she's certainly found it very hard going recently it seems... which is a shame. The Hull group also appears to be dead but I have invited the Sheffield Group (via Yahoo!Groups) & posted on the BC forums too - so who knows??!

Kirstin can't come any more, and Little Suz was only a vague maybe, so I'm not sure whether we'll have any of our new uncon friends with us after all, I'm afraid. Maybe.

I think we may have a few of our new UnCon friends visiting - Helen may know more, as she was the one who has been communicating with them...

Hurray! Even a visitor from the Southern Crossers... Anyone else coming who is a little further away than Leeds or Nottingham...?

Nice, lively meeting - thanks to everyone for supporting the group over the years!
    •  Nice to have a Saturday Meet for a change. Also great to welcome two new Bookcrossers.
    •  I was delighted to be able to celebrate 5 years of the group - long may it continue!
