We had a great meet in the Walrus last month, when the Camel and Artichoke had unfortunately managed to double book. But as they were the ones to find the Walrus for us (which is just down the road from the, a lovely place, and wants to be an OBCZ!) I thought we'd give the C&A another try. So I shall be asking them for their sofas upstairs again for the January meet - and don't forget their lovely bookshelves dedicated to Bookcrossing!

Those of you who didn't manage to make it in December missed a great meetup (well, I enjoyed it anyway!), I hope to get to see you in the New Year instead - and of course those who did make it, so we can annoy those who didn't by talking about what fun it was!

Don't forget to save spare Christmas crackers, tinsel etc for our Christmas picnic in June - hopefully we will have better weather in 2008.

If you haven't yet joined BookCrossing please join www.bookcrossing.com before you come to a meetup. It's totally free and you won't receive any junk email.

If you need any more information or have any suggestions for better meetups please email us either via Meetup.com or via BookCrossing.com - our BookCrossing IDs are Diomedes and WistfulDragon.

*NB: Our "meetup fee" covers the London BookCrossing Meetup group's subscription to meetup.com - we are charged approx. £65 per year for using the website!

Some newbies, some roped in, lots of good friends, masses of books, drink, good food, chocolate - a wonderful evening!
    •  Nice people to chat to. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. I've picked lots of books and about to find out where those books have been when I look on the bookcrossing website. I'll go again!
    •  Loved it - lots of nice people to talk to, good food, good books and comfy seating. Really couldn't want for more - although Stephen really shouldn't put chocolate in front on me: it's not fair.
    •  Really enjoyed it. Everyone seemed very relaxed and the layout of the venue is far more conducive to chatting that some of the others, I think
