Hi all

I used to go regularly to Meetups of this group but due to working evenings I stopped and did not start up again. Today I received an email from meetup saying that the organiser has stepped down and seemingly not emailed the members (I have not received anything anyway and am signed up to receive any emails sent through Meetup) or appointed a new organiser. The number attending seems pretty good. Does anyone know what has happened?

Same here. I have just had an email from Meetup saying the same thing!

Hi - I attended my first meetup of this group recently and when I got the email saying the meetup would vanish without a new coordinator, I signed on to do that, but am more than willing to share the role (or hand it over if appropriate)! I just didn't want to see the meetup vanish.

Don't panic!
I just had lunch at The Old Shades with Wistful Dragon/Mary, one of the organisers.
I think they forgot to renew the annual payment, but she and Diomedes/Stephen are definitely still organising the London meet up, and it is booked for 13th April at The Camel and Artichoke.

We didn't forget - the trouble was we paid using my credit card, when Stephen is down as the organiser, and apparently that is not on, so they assumed that Stephen had stepped down, but didn't associate my payment with the London Meetup Group! We think we have it all sorted now. And in the meantime we have definitely bookd the Camel and Artichoke for the 13th of MAY (Jane, I didn't realise you had been drinking alcohol!!!), and we have a couple of goodies that turned up too late for the Convention - don't panic, I was instructed by Tobysrus to pass them on to bookcrossers, so I'm not being naughty, even though they were originally designed to be used at the Convention.

While I am thinking ahead, please don't forget that we will shortly be arranging our annual Christmas Picnic for June. Hopefully we will have better weather this year, so there will be a better turnout! So if you were thinking of throwing away your old tinsel, crackers etc, please don't.....
