BookCrossing: call for children's books

Hello, Evanston BookCrossers,

Our next meeting is coming up on June 12th at 7pm at
Cafe Mozart in Evanston, and I'd like to put out a
call for any children's books you may want to release
into the BC universe.

Through the BC yahoo group, I "met" a woman who is
currently living in Sri Lanka with her family (her BC
screen name is samutsari). Her three children are
happy BC participants, but find there's not a lot of
BC activity for them there. So, they've embarked on a
special project--gathering some of their books and
collecting others to give to a nearby orphanage. Many
of the children at this orphanage were orphaned by the
2004 tsunami.

I've decided to get a collection of books to send to
Sri Lanka for them. If you have any children's books
you'd like to donate, please bring them to our 6/12
Evanston BC meet-up, and I'll add them to my package.

If you would first register any childrens book/s you'd
like donate, that'd be a tremendous help for me (and
you'd be able to follow the book's journey thru the BC
site). Also, paperbacks or any similar light-weighing
books would be best--I'd like to go for a nice
quantity, yet not break my shipping budget.

The kids range in age from 3-15 years old, and the
orphanage has volunteers who are teaching the children
English. samutsari has told me that the orphange is
very excited to receive the books and that her own
children are very excited that other people want to
participate in their project.

Thanks so much, and hope to see you at the meet-up!
Jenny
