- Introduction:
- "Hi, I am a clinical psychologist and college teacher. I love to read, and I write. I have about 3,000 books at home. I'm sure I can sacrifice one or two. Perhaps can't make Dec. 11 but next one for sure. Perhaps I can make Tuesday."
- What are some of your favorite books?
- "Freud. (He is not out of date.), A Theory of Justice (Rawls), evolutionary psychology books. I don't much like fiction. "

"Good group but perhaps everyone should bring topics. They don't have to be discussed, only considered. Also, sometimes it might stimulate conversation to have a common reading. I will come next month."
-
Evanston Writers Workshop
"It is good for those interested in writing fiction. I am interested in publicizing my book and getting reviews. I don't need help with writing."

-
Chicago Non-fiction Book Club
"Ron dominating the group with his social darwinism. I had trouble participating. Some ideas seemed to threaten group members, especially involving doctors in health education. I don't think having a brother in medical school is the answer to the question. No point in commenting more except the idea that people will return to the farm is a little ridiculous. "

A Taste of Judaism Meetup
"Interesting and enjoyable people. I didn't meet many but expect to meet some of the others at the next event. "

I see you have good "weight" as a writer of a nonfiction book. Did you self-publish? I just quit the Chicago Non-fiction book club due to not liking their particular selections. It is a hard thing, in book discussion clubs, to go along with sucky books and hope and wait for one you like to be finally picked. I may try writers groups instead. Would you like to correspond directly in email? AlexTaylorWorks @AOL.com

Hey, my name is Alex and I find your comment on someone dominating the meeting being quite like what I usually find as a problem. My interests in book themes seem to coincide with yours. I am interested in some mutual writing critique. AlexTaylorWorks @AOL.com
